At The Tuck and Table, we believe some of life’s best memories are made around a table.

Our story grew from years of big family meals, traveling to our children’s ball games and tournaments, discovering the small towns, local restaurants, and gathering places that made those trips memorable.  Along the way, we learned that a great restaurant is about much more than what’s on the plate.  It’s about the people you’re with, the place you’re in, and the memories you take home with you.

Here in Bryson City, we’re fortunate to be surrounded by the Great Smoky Mountains and the beautiful Tuckasegee River.  We want The Tuck and Table to reflect the place we call home; welcoming, relaxed, a little refined, and deeply connected to Western North Carolina.

Our kitchen brings together familiar Southern and Appalachian flavors with dishes that give you a reason to try something new.  Whether you’re a local joining us for a hearty meal, a family celebrating something special, or a visitor experiencing Bryson City for the first time, we want you to feel welcome at our table.

Because at the end of the day, our mission is simple:

Making Memories at The Table.

Our story

Two hometowns, a lot of miles, and a lot of opinions about what a good meal looks like.

We’re about as local as local gets.

Amy was born and raised just a few miles down the road in Cherokee, and I grew up right here in Bryson City, just two blocks from where The Tuck and Table stands today. Many days included swimming in the Tuckasegee River and stopping by Papa’s Pizza for cheese sticks. I never imagined that years later, we’d open a restaurant just steps from the places that were such a big part of my childhood.

Western North Carolina isn’t simply where we chose to open a business. It’s home.

In our younger years, we both worked in restaurants and developed an appreciation for the energy, excitement, and fast pace of the hospitality industry. Amy’s experience began as a host at Granny’s Kitchen and eventually led her to the position of Executive Host at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino. Her professional background continued in hospitality and marketing, while my career followed a different path, but one equally centered on serving others. From working as head lifeguard and instructor at the Swain County pool to teaching, strength and conditioning coaching, and even a brief period as a paramedic, service has been a consistent part of my professional life.

We each earned a degree in business and have been small business owners since 2011 with our gym, CrossFit 2232. Although our careers have taken different directions, we’ve always shared a genuine appreciation for helping others and the satisfaction that comes from making a positive difference in someone’s day.

As a family of seven, we’ve spent countless hours traveling across the Southeast for our children’s ball games, tournaments, and family vacations. Naturally, that has meant a lot of meals in restaurants along the way. We’ve enjoyed exceptional food, discovered memorable places, and experienced firsthand what separates a good restaurant from a great one. We’ve also had our share of disappointing experiences. Over time, we realized that the restaurants we remembered most weren’t necessarily the fanciest or most expensive. They were the ones that combined great food with genuine hospitality and made us feel that our visit mattered.

Those experiences became the inspiration for The Tuck and Table

We wanted to bring together the best of what we’ve experienced over the years: the comfort of a home-cooked meal, generous portions, the quality and attention to detail of upscale dining, and a welcoming atmosphere where families and friends can gather for both everyday meals and special occasions.

Our hope is for The Tuck and Table to become a staple of Western North Carolina and a place locals are proud to call their own, visitors consider a must-try, and people are willing to make a special trip to experience.

We believe that begins with fresh, high-quality ingredients, thoughtfully prepared dishes, and a kitchen team that genuinely enjoys creating great food. Just as important is the experience beyond the plate: attentive, welcoming service from people who are truly pleased you’ve chosen to spend your time with us.

Bryson City may be a small town, but it has no shortage of places to eat. We recognize that every guest has a choice, and we never take that choice for granted.

Amy and I, along with our entire staff, would rather earn your table than assume it.

Because for us, The Tuck and Table has always been about more than serving a great meal.

It’s about Making Memories at The Table.
